Situated right beside a cycle trail that follows an easy, off-road route to the beach and gardens, and nudging fairytale woods where mountain bikers flock to the muddier trails, River Valley is popular with cyclists of all levels. To make it really easy we offer bike hire onsite, so you can ditch your car and explore Cornwall on two wheels.

Families can trundle off along the Pentewan Valley Trail (that runs adjacent to the caravan park) and follow the level, riverside track to the nearest beach (2.5 miles away) at Pentewan, the fishing town of Mevagissey and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. If you want to freewheel a little further and don't mind a little roadwork, head in the other direction to Charlestown, the Eden Project and link up to the network of clay trails etched through the county's rich landscape.

With the 140-acre Kings Wood just footsteps from your tent or caravan, mountain bikers don't have to go for to have some fun on the steep, valley-side tracks that zigzag through the woodland.

If you want to explore some of Cornwall's cycle trails a little further afield it's only about 40 minutes' drive to the Camel Trail – a virtually flat, 18-mile route between Bodmin and Padstow. Or drive 45 minutes to Bissoe and follow the mineral tramways coast-to-coast trail between Portreath and Devoran.
